sharegrab is a tool I built for my own Mac. There is no public download and no account sign-up. If you want it, write to me and I will send you a build, personally, with instructions.

What macOS will say on first launch

The app is signed with my own certificate, not with an Apple Developer ID, and it is not notarised. That is a deliberate choice for a private tool, and it means Gatekeeper shows "Apple could not verify" the first time. On current macOS there is no right-click shortcut any more: open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to sharegrab. You do this once.

After that the app asks for Screen Recording. Without it there is nothing to capture, so it opens the right panel for you.

Why not a public download

Three reasons, in order. It is a tool for one person and a few people I know, not a product. A public download without notarisation would put that "could not verify" dialog in front of strangers, which is not how I want to greet anyone. And a public download changes what this is legally, from a private tool into a distributed one, which I am not doing without doing it properly.

What it never does
